What happens if it rains?
The event will always go ahead in the event of bad weather. Please check the weather forecast in advance and be prepared for the Great British Summer! Screenings will only be cancelled if the weather conditions present a danger at screening time. Patrons accept the risk that weather they consider unsatisfactory may occur on a screening night, and acknowledge that tickets will not be exchanged or refunded unless a screening is cancelled by Big Sky Cinema. In the unlikely event that a screening is cancelled, we will aim to give as much notice as possible, so please keep an eye out for information on social media.
Can I bring food and drink?
You can bring picnics with you to most of our venues, but it’s worth checking each event page as it can vary. Please note that no glass of any kind is allowed onto sites, including bottles of wine and beer. All drinks must be in plastic or cans and please use plastic to drink from as opposed to glass that can easily break. In addition, we will very often have a bar and hot food for sale on site – Check each Event on Event Page for Details.
Can I bring something to sit on?
Yes, by all means feel free to bring a picnic chair or blanket to sit on. We request those members of the audience on chairs not to sit at the front, but rather position themselves at the side or towards the back of the audience area.
Can I smoke at the screening?
Smoking is permitted at most outdoor venues, but please ask before smoking and take account of the needs of those around you.
Can I bring a dog to the screening?
No, dogs are not permitted at our events except assistance dogs. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Will there be toilet facilities at the screenings?
Yes, all our our screenings have toilet facilities (please check each event page as the offering varies between venues) If you require disabled toilet facilities please alert us in advance of the event.
Can I bring children?
Children are permitted at our events, but please be aware that they must adhere to the film’s certification and we may have to check to make sure that all audience members are the suitable age to see the film. Please ensure you have photo identification with you if your child may appear younger than the listed film certification.
Will there be food and drink available at the screening?
Yes – we nearly always have food and drink at our events, though please check the screening details in advance as to what will be available. This may change with short or no notice.
What if I forget my ticket?
Please bring your ticket along – if you do forget it, we have a record of all bookings, so if you provide us with your details we can admit you into the event. All audience members including children must have a valid ticket.
Will there be subtitles?
Not as standard, if you require subtitles please inform us in advance. Where we show foreign language films we do always display subtitles.
Is there wheelchair access? Hearing impaired options?
We try to ensure that all of our sites have wheelchair access, but please let us know in advance if you require wheelchair entry and exit and we will always do our best to ensure you are looked after. We do not currently provide support for hearing impaired customers but please contact us if you wish to attend or use your CEA Card.
Can I hire the Big Sky Cinema for a private event?
Yes, our entire cinema set-up can be hired for parties, corporate screenings or whatever occasion you like! Please contact us and we will provide you with more details.
Do you offer refunds?
We don’t offer refunds to events unless the event is cancelled on account of dangerous weather. In some circumstances, an exchange may be offered, but this is judged on a case by case basis.
